COVERAGE ON BREAST CANCER 3-DAY
I saw your story about the event late last night on the news, and I want to thank you, and your cameraman, too, for doing a wonderful job. It was one of the best reports I saw about it. It was also a perfect example of one of the reasons I admire your work, namely, you don't spend too much time in front of the camera.
Before you take that as a backhanded compliment, let me hasten to say that I think you're a beautiful woman, and I'm sure that FOX 13's male viewers wouldn't mind seeing you on camera more often. What I mean is that you always keep the focus of your reporting where it belongs--on the story and the people involved in it. You never seem to try to draw attention to yourself at the expense of the story.
With your story, though, you didn't appear at all, providing only a
simple but effective narration, and devoting all the on-camera time to the people who had taken part. It really was a very nice story.
In a business where looks and personality sometimes seem more important than journalistic ability, your reporting style is refreshingly modest, especially since you have all three. Keep up the great work.
Sincerely,
Jose M.
